American Ambulance of Visalia proudly serves the greater Visalia area and portions of rural Tulare County. Visalia is centrally located between Los Angeles and Sacramento.
American Ambulance responds to over 25,000 emergency and non-emergency related incidents per year and offers Advanced Life Support (Paramedic) and Basic Life Support (EMT) level of care.
American Ambulance of Visalia was originally established in 1979 by David Cooper as a new Visalia operation for Fresno-based American Ambulance. The services were then located at 1122 East Mineral King Avenue here in Visalia. Mr. Cooper served as manager of the operation until 1981, when he returned to Fresno to serve as Chief Executive Officer for American Ambulance. In the mid-1980’s, American Ambulance of Visalia opened up a new station at 2211 West Whitendale to serve the south and west portions of the community with quicker response times. In October 1988, Mr. Cooper and family acquired the Visalia operation and established the company as American Ambulance of Visalia. In December of 1993, American Ambulance of Visalia needed more room for personnel, office staff, training and storage. The new location for the administrative and operations offices was selected at 2017 East Noble Avenue. Today, operating out of multiple stations throughout Visalia and portions of rural Tulare County, American Ambulance of Visalia continues to work hard for the communities it serves by continually reviewing the needs and services provided, maintaining an emphasis on training and education and supporting the essential foundation of the company, its personnel, by providing competitive wages and benefits.
